Taking my Cat with - who to use?
« on: June 23, 2016, 10:37:38 am »
Hi all

For those of you that brought over your animals/pets. Who did you use and why?

We coming over from South Africa so any recommendations for pet travel consultants from here would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum.
Interesting nickname. I am still super appreciative that we don't see the common house gecko in NZ  :)

LOL @ yusuf - I love Gecko's... any lizard. Its spiders that give me the hibbie-jibbies!

@hugopve - I looked into them, thanks. They want to keep my kitty for 30 days in JHB (Im in CT) before she flies over, while the other agents Ive contacted are 5-7 days only for final health checks and tests.. so Keringa is out for me. To me they are just after the kennel fees.

As for the hefty bill - true.. but its going to cost about the same to take my kids with ;)

Thanks all x

Always delightful to see if somebody treat their furkidz with this respect.  :yippee:

Gecko, I know Zedd took their 2 dogs and cat with them last year. He wrote a very nice post about it. Have a look at this thread: http://www.sagoingtonz.co.nz/forum/index.php/topic,8613.0.html
I am sure he might be able to give you a few pointers, if needed. I know he mentioned about a 30 day testing schedule, but cannot remember anything about quarantine required in SA in his post. I stand to be corrected.
