Shipping dogs

Did anyone ship their dogs via sea? There's a ban on quantas airlines on pugs because of their breathing problems - although we can ship them via hong kong on SA airlines - I'm a bit concerned to do that. So I thought the only other option would probably be to ship him via sea.
Can anyone give me details on this (price, how long it will take). Shame, poor Gizmo for that long on a ship all by himself!!

Hi Elzahn, I am not aware of anyone shipping their dogs via sea, by I would imaging it to be pretty traumatic for them, but keep us updated on what you find out, especially about price and how long it will take

Dont know about the cost but i think it would be a very long time sending via sea and not suitable for animals IMHO!!

Well are there passenger liners that allow dogs on board? Freight takes longer than 3 weeks, more like 6 and you don't want your dog in a crate that long without you there to talk to it right?

I would only send my dogs by sea if I was going on the same boat.
